On today’s episode, Elle is joined by Val Rosas, a placenta encapsulation specialist to talk all about this amazing and mysterious organ. They talk about the benefits of placenta encapsulation, what the process of placenta encapsulation looks like, different ways to consume the placenta (placenta encapsulation – raw method of traditional Chinese method, placenta smoothies – immediately postpartum, pre-packaged, or cubed, tinctures, and cooked), and how to grow a healthy placenta.
What are the benefits of placenta encapsulation? The three main benefits, and the ones that are reported the most in order:
1. Energy. (Especially the raw method)
2. Mood/hormone stabilization.
3. Lactation. (Can be a little hit or miss)
“After birth, the attention really shifts from mom to baby. And mom needs just as much care as baby, if not even a little bit more because she’s the one who has to care for the baby. So if her well-being is not kept in mind, then how can she be sound enough to care for her baby?” – Val Rosas
“Just like pregnancy and just like birth, postpartum is different for everyone.” – Val Rosas
“The roles have shift, and it’s now his turn to come in and to do all the things that she cannot do. Just like she was doing all the things that he could not do during the pregnancy.” – Val Rosas
“We all deserve the BEST care! We deserve more than the bare minimum!” – Elle Kennedy
