On today’s episode, Elle and Taylor sit down with Mindy Werth, commonly known as Aunty Mindy, a family consultant and joins families on their journey to birth, from fertility through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, to discuss Gratitude and Mindset during pregnancy and during the postpartum period. They talk about slowing down, creating abundance, and taking care of yourself during pregnancy and postpartum.
Mindy talks about tuning out the noise and focusing down into yourself so you can own your journey and trust your intuition to follow your own path through pregnancy, birth, and into parenthood. She dives into how we need to find a few trusted sources for information, and then tune out the rest so we can listen to our bodies and minds and meet our own needs.
They also discuss how slowing down, being mindful, and moving through life with intentionality gives us a chance to make better, more thoughtful choices in our day to day life. Mindy emphasizes that creating mindfulness routines during pregnancy are important because it helps set the tone for the postpartum period and it is easier to keep up with an already established routine, rather then trying to start self-care from scratch while also navigating the infant stage.
They share a ton of self-care ideas to start in pregnancy and to carry on postpartum. The important thing is to choose things that resonate with you, and start small. Just one act of self-care or self-kindness, and grow over time as you gain satisfaction and confidence in your daily or weekly rituals and routines. If you’d like some ideas on where to start, we’ve included a list of self-care ideas in printable PDF form below.
