Are you as bad at sending holiday cards as I am? I think I’ve only gotten them out on time once. Ever. I’m lucky if I even get our holiday photos TAKEN, let alone printed, up on our own wall, and you can basically forget sending them to anyone else!
Then I heard something the other day that totally let me off the hook this year! I listen to the Happier Podcast with Gretchen Rubin (anyone else listen to her? I love her and I want to be her best friend! And her sister’s best friend, too!), and on it she mentioned that they don’t send out holiday cards, because that time of year is too crazy. Instead, they send out Valentine’s Day cards! How cute is that?! They still send their love and well wishes with a holiday that’s perfectly suited for it, and she gets an extra month and a half to make it happen! It’s like the grown-up version of the Valentine’s cards you get in grade school. I love it!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day actually holds an extra special meaning for Jeremy and me, as it is our anniversary! This Valentine’s Day will be our 5th anniversary, which I think is pretty cool.
Anyway, here is my version of the Valentine’s Day e-card just for you! (And hey, look! We’re even dressed in holiday-appropriate colors! Almost like I planned it that way, which I totally didn’t)
My lovely friend, Lizzi, of Grace and Gratitude Life, was kind enough to take our family photos this year. She is not a photographer by trade (she is a doula and a yoga instructor), but I think she did a darn good job!
I love each and every one of my readers, and hope that you have a fantastically wonderful Valentine’s Day full of love and time spent with people you love. I plan on making my kids some waffle sticks (maybe even putting some red food coloring in them?) for breakfast on Valentine’s Day. Do you have any special Valentine’s Day traditions? I’d love to hear about them!
